Mending workshops
Mending is a basic and vital skill that everyone used to have. We used to learn the skill from our mother or grandmother which meant that it was basically passed down from generation to generation. It is a long process to make clothes from the fibre to the finished product and so many people are involved in the process of making a garment we buy.
Since mass production has become dominant in the fashion industry, clothes have become affordable for everyone. We do not value clothes as much as we used to and have forgotten how to look after them. We usually don't think about what we can do if there is a hole in them or if a seam has come undone.
We encourage people to revitalize the skill of mending. It will change our environment for us and our children if we learn how to look after our belongings. Just by watching you mending their clothes, your children will learn how to look after their belongings and show an interest in learning to sew or mend.
Hope you all enjoy mending clothes for family and have fun together with your children.
